Speaking to NME about how the character Hirayama chooses the music he listens to, “Maybe he’s clinging to the past. But he’s also clinging to his youth and loves that music. He chooses exactly what he will listen to that day in the morning. And it’s not random.”

Added a mighty voice in the film” and called Nina Simone “one of the great heroes of my life and for some other people.”
