On Monday night at Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus concert in Rome where Kanye West made a surprise appearance.
The show was West’s first live performance since his anti-Semitic comments in October 2022.
Scott welcomed West on stage with raps of “Praise God” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” during a performance of his new album “Utopia”.
“There is no ‘Utopia’ without Kanye West. There is no Travis Scott without Kanye West,” Scott said. “There is no Rome without Kanye West. Make some noise for Ye.”
Jewish organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League widely condemned West’s anti-Semitic comments in the past.
However, his account was recently restored on Elon Musk-owned X, formerly known as Twitter. The rapper also faced suspension on social media for his anti-Semitic comments.
West was also ousted from several major partnerships as he responded to losing these brand deals, including Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap, in October.“Ari Emanuel.
I lost 2 billion dollars in one day. And I’m still alive. This is love speech. I still love you. God still loves you. The money is not who I am. The people are who I am,” he wrote on Instagram.
DaBaby joined West’s last live performance in February 2022 during the launch event of his album “Donda 2” in Miami.
Several actors also join him on the show who faced criticism after homophobic comments in 2021, as well as Marilyn Manson, who has multiple sexual assault allegations against him.
