Joe Alwyn’s Instagram Teasers: Fueling Speculation Before Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ Release

Taylor Swift’s ex, Joe Alwyn, posted a series of Instagram posts as he revealed more about their quiet romance on his upcoming album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

He posted just two days earlier, on his 33rd birthday on February 21, that he uploaded a carousel of images, including a shot of him taking a mirror selfie in the woods with a film camera.

She posted photos of herself sharing drinks with friends and an adorable canine companion and photos of the ocean, an empty casino, and Los Angeles landscapes. Alvin completed the collection by showing a photo of himself as a child.

Taylor Swift quickly separated from Alvin after six years together.

Last year, in September, we announced the April release of “The Tortured Poets Department” at the 2024 Grammys earlier this month.

She gave her Best Pop Vocal Album acceptance speech for “Midnights,” saying that she had been keeping the project a secret for two years, coinciding with her and Alvin’s relationship.

“JOES GROUP CHAT [sic] W PAUL WAS CALLED THE TORTURED MENS CLUB,” one fan wrote via X.

Another added, “Apparently, Joe and Paul Mescal’s WhatsApp GC was called ‘the tortured men club.’ LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO.”

Third claims, “I’m actually so obsessed with the concept of this album already,” the person said enthusedly. “All’s fair in love and poetry’ is giving ‘you treated me the way you did, and it’s fair game for me to write about it.”

Alvin and Mescal told Variety they were part of a boys-only group chat called “The Tortured Man Club.”

“[Scott is] just on it every day. He’s just on it by himself,” Mescal said at the time, to which Alwyn joked, “Just messaging himself good mornings.”

Alvin previously discussed in an interview with GQ UK that “I think it’s a reflection on Connell and Nick,” his role in the film “Conversations with Friends.”

After breaking up with Taylor Swift, Alvin has not been publicly linked with anyone new since dating Swift.
