Ijogbon 2023 Soundtrack — Cast, Music & FAQ

Ijogbon is a 2023 Nigerian coming-of-age adventure film directed and produced by Kunle Afolayan and written by Tunde Babalola. It is one of three films produced under Afolayan’s multi-picture deal with Netflix, which released the film globally on 13 October 2023.

The story follows four teenagers from a remote village in south-west Nigeria who stumble onto a pouch of uncut diamonds. Their decision to keep the diamonds instead of handing them back to the owners who come looking for them sets off a chain of dangerous events that puts the friends, and their families, at serious risk. Fittingly, “Ijogbon” is itself a Yoruba word meaning trouble, chaos, or turmoil.

The film was shot at KAP Film Village and Resort in Oyo State, Nigeria.

Music & Composer of Ijogbon

Unlike many of Kunle Afolayan’s other Netflix films, no standalone Ijogbon soundtrack album has ever been commercially released, and no composer credit for the film appears on Wikipedia or the major English-language film databases. The Nollywood crew-credit database Nollydata lists Anu Afolayan, Kunle Afolayan’s brother and the regular in-house composer for his productions (including Aníkúlápó, Citation, and Mokalik), as Ijogbon’s music composer and final mixer. That credit is plausible given Anu Afolayan’s long working relationship with the director, but it has not been independently confirmed elsewhere, so we’re noting it here rather than stating it as settled fact.

Is Ijogbon on Netflix or Prime Video?

Ijogbon is a Netflix original, not a Prime Video title. It premiered globally on Netflix on October 13, 2023, and remains available to stream there as of 2026.

How Ijogbon Performed on Netflix

Ijogbon became a genuine Nollywood hit for Netflix. In its opening weekend (October 13–15, 2023) it racked up roughly 4.2 million viewing hours to land at No. 8 on Netflix’s global non-English films chart, then climbed to No. 6 the following week (October 16–22), the only Nigerian title in the global top 10 during that period. Within its first two weeks, the film logged about 5.7 million hours viewed from roughly 2.9 million viewers, and reached the top 10 in Nigeria and at least nine other countries.
