The Foundation is a 2021–2023 American science fiction streaming television series created by David S. Created by Goyer and Josh Friedman for Apple TV+. Based on the stories from Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series, the show features an ensemble cast led by Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Lobel, and Leah Harvey.

Lee Pace plays Brother Day, a middle-aged member of a series of genetic clones of Cleon I, who serves as Emperor of the Galactic Empire.

Lou Lobel plays Gail Doornick, a self-taught young woman and disciple of Hari’s who comes from a planet where the pursuit of knowledge is considered heresy. Leah Harvey plays Salvar Hardin, Warden of Terminus and daughter of Gal Doornik, who becomes a hero during the Foundation’s first crisis.

The cast also includes Laura Byrne as Ato Demerzel, an android, and Majordomo of the Emperors, one of the last surviving remnants of the ancient Robot Wars. Terrence Mann plays Brother Dusk, the eldest member of the genetic clone line of Cleon I, who retired from his duties as Emperor.

Additionally, Chipo Chung provides the voice for the Deliverance Operating System, and Cassian Bilton plays Brother Dawn, the youngest member of Cleon I’s genetic clone series and Brother Day’s successor-in-training.

The first season premiered on 24 September 2021, and the second season premiered on 14 July 2023. A third season had been confirmed and was in the process of filming. The foundation is available to stream on Apple TV+.
