Encounter had its world premiere at the 48th Telluride Film Festival on September 3, 2021, and was released in a limited release on December 3, 2021, by Amazon Studios, before streaming on Prime Video on December 10, 2021.
Storyline of Encounters Soundtrack
Malik Khan, a US Marine, has two young boys, Jay and Bobby. At home, Jay and Bobby are living with their mother Piya, and their mother’s new partner Dylan. Piya has been feeling sick lately, and Dylan ominously tells her it’s ‘a bug’.
The story revolves around American marine Malik Khan, who has two young boys, Jai and Bobby. Malik comes to their house one night and immediately tells them that they are going on a road trip. While on the road with his boys, Malik admits that this is not a road trip but a rescue mission.
They say that an alien parasite has taken over the planet and their mother has been contaminated. Malik has to take his boys to a safe place and says they can protect themselves from parasites with bug spray.
Composer of Encounters Music
Jed Kurzel composed the score for Encounter. The Australian singer-songwriter-guitarist and film composer is a founding member of the blues rock duo The Mess Hall. Kurzel has scored numerous acclaimed films, including True History of the Kelly Gang, Seberg, The Nightingale, and Macbeth (2015), and is also known for his work on “The Pope’s Exorcist”. His elder brother, Justin Kurzel, is a film director and screenwriter with whom he has frequently collaborated.
Jed Kurzel was born in Gawler, South Australia, in 1976. He grew up there with his brother Justin. Their father, Zdzisław Kurzel, migrated to Australia from Poland in 1960. Jed later moved to Sydney in the 1990s, around the time Justin was studying at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).
