About Death on the Border
Based partly on Wilkins’s own experience as a former police officer, Death on the Border is set near the Texas-Mexico border and follows Maddy (Shannon Elizabeth), who runs a decoy operation posing as a stranded motorist to trap men who prey on her — until one encounter leads her to a truck full of migrants and pulls her into a human-trafficking case tied to a cartel leader posing as a priest, Father Francis (Danny Trejo). She partners with state trooper Rhonda (Kika Magalhães) as detectives John Boone (Eric Roberts) and John Watson (Frank Whaley) close in on the case.
