The series follows two Black women from Rio de Janeiro whose lives become entangled after a police operation in the Máré favela complex on Mother’s Day. Rita loses her 11-year-old son, nicknamed Sushi, to police violence. Edna is the mother of Dígão, the police officer responsible for the boy’s death. Rita’s older son, visual artist Sinistro, rallies the Máré community around him to demand justice for his brother, while Edna is forced to confront her own family’s role in the tragedy. The show is a fictional drama, but it draws directly on the real, ongoing issue of police violence in Rio’s favelas.
Who Composed the Score
Rica Amabis is credited with the series’ original score. The show’s creator, Marcelo D2, contributes several tracks to the companion soundtrack — including a remix of his own “Prelúdio em Rimas Cariocas” and a duet with Tulipa Ruiz — but he is not the sole composer of the show’s music, correcting an earlier version of this page that credited him with the entire soundtrack. The official companion album, Amar É Para Os Fortes (Música da Série Original Prime Video), is a various-artists compilation featuring Rodrigo Campos, Liza Del Dala, Tassia Reis, Major RD, Macaco Bong, Gui Amabis, Juçara Marçal, Kiko Dinucci, Douglas Germano, and Tulipa Ruiz alongside Marcelo D2 and Rica Amabis.

This list reflects the 12 tracks on the official Prime Video companion soundtrack, as listed on Spotify. It corrects several corrupted entries from an earlier version of this page (for example, “FEBRE DO RATO” was garbled text for “Prisão do Rato,” and “O DA COLINA” was garbled text for “Alto da Colina”) — several other previously listed titles (ALT, SURPRESA (PROS AMIGOS), RESISTÊNCIA CULTURAL, AEPOF, FILHO DE OBÁ) could not be matched to the verified tracklist and have been removed rather than republished unverified.
