Doja Cat has lost over 180,000 Instagram followers as a result of her social media rants directed at her fans.
After bashing her fans in a series of since-removed angry messages, the Woman hitmaker has lost over 180,000 Instagram followers and deleted her Threads account.
The Say So performer, who is usually opinionated on social media, lashed out at her fans earlier this week. The majority of her criticism was directed at people who had built fan profiles dedicated to her and referred to themselves as “kittens,” a term she had previously given to her supporters.
According to Hype Auditor, the 27-year-old has lost more than 180,000 Instagram followers as a result of her shocking words.
Doja Cat, who has previously stated that she finds it “creepy” when her admirers use the singer’s true name, Amala Zandile Dlamini, as their Twitter account, was also chastised this week after a fan asked her about it.
In one of the now-deleted tweets from the musician, she said: “My fans don’t get to name themselves St. If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or fking ‘kittens’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house.”
Several fan accounts have been disabled, presumably as a result of the singer’s outburst.
Doja is now preparing for a nationwide tour in the United States, which will begin later this year. On October 31, the inaugural event will take place at San Francisco’s Chase Centre “I wanna hear you say (I do love you guys),” to which the singer responded with, “I don’t though cuz I don’t even know y’all.”
She didn’t stop there. A fan responded, “And we don’t know you. but we have supported you through thick and thin. mind you you’d be NOTHING without us. you’d be working at a grocery store making songs on fking garage band miss high school drop out…..” Doja Cat doubled down saying, “Nobody forced you idk why you’re talking to me like you’re my mother but you sound like a crazy person.”
The new outrage comes over a year after Doja Cat announced her retirement from music However her fans chastised her for failing to apologize for a canceled show in Paraguay in March 2022.
The problem rose after the first day of Paraguay’s Asunciónico Festival was canceled due to flooding, resulting in Doja Cat’s absence from the country. While the cancellation was not her fault, fans expressed disappointment that she did not mention the canceled event online, instead apologizing for not putting on “a good enough show” in Brazil.
