Here is the complete list of MTV Europe Music Awards 2023 winners. The much-awaited awards ceremony was scheduled to be held on November 5, 2023, but was canceled due to the Palestine–Israel war.
The 2023 MTV EMAs were scheduled to occur in Paris, France on Sunday, November 5. However, in previous months organizers had canceled the awards ceremony due to “reminiscences of global history” amid the conflict in the Middle East.
On Sunday night, network executives sought to release a list of awards to honor those fans voted for.
Statement “As fans worldwide voted for their favorite categories including best artist, best song, and more, MTV is recognizing the following artists with 2023 MTV EMAs,”.
However, the event did not go as planned, with Taylor Swift winning three awards out of 7 nominees and Nicki Minaj winning two out of three.
Cancellation announced in October “Given the volatility of world events, we have decided not to move forward with the 2023 MTV EMAs out of an abundance of caution for the thousands of employees, crew members, artists, fans, and partners who travel from all corners of the world to bring the show to life.
Further added “Voting is continuing and the winning artists will receive their MTV EMA Awards. We look forward to hosting the MTV EMAs again in November of 2024.”
Surprisingly, this is the first time that the MTV EMAs have been canceled since its launch in 1994.
