The fifth season of the Shoegaze anime series, titled FLCL: Shoegaze, is produced by Production IG and Adult Swim’s production arm Williams Street. Shoegaze was animated by NUT, and directed by Yutaka Uemura. It will premiere on Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block in the United States on October 1, 2023.

“FLCL: Shoegaze” is a new season of the FLCL series currently in production, announced on March 17, 2022. The series creative director, Jason DeMarco, confirmed that the release date is set for 2023 and will once again include music from The Pillows. The Pillows are a Japanese rock band known for their contributions to the Shoegaze series.
