Score & Composer

Earlier versions of this article credited a garbled, unverifiable composer name for The Regime. That was incorrect. The series’ score was actually composed by two well-known film and TV composers working in tandem: Alexandre Desplat (Oscar winner for The Shape of Water and The Grand Budapest Hotel) scored episodes 1 through 3, while Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, State of Play) took over for episodes 4 through 6. Music supervisor Lynden Campbell, known for her work on The Banshees of Inisherin, selected the series’ featured needle-drops.

Every Song (by Scene)

The most notable needle-drop moment in The Regime comes in the premiere episode:

Episode 1, “Victory Day”“If You Leave Me Now” (Chicago cover)Elena Vernham (Kate Winslet) leads a musical number with backup singers at a social event, performing a cover of the 1976 Chicago hit while addressing the crowd.

A complete, publicly documented episode-by-episode needle-drop list beyond the premiere hasn’t been compiled by music outlets as of this update, so we’re not fabricating one here. For the fullest up-to-date listing, Tunefind tracks additions as they’re confirmed.
