FX’s The Drop: A Snowfall Saga follows Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons into 1990 Los Angeles, as West Coast rap rises from the fallout of the crack era. Gail Bean and Isaiah John return as the leads, joined by Asante Blackk, Peyton Alex Smith, and Simmie “Buddy” Sims III.
Music is the engine of this spin-off. Executive music producer and composer Larrance “Rance 1500” Dopson built a slate of original songs that live inside the story.
Those songs sit beside classic West Coast cuts chosen by music supervisor Kier Lehman. New tracks reach streaming services as the season airs.

The Drop: A Snowfall Saga Soundtrack Overview
The soundtrack is not a single album drop. Hollywood Records is releasing the show’s original songs as EPs while the season airs.
The first EP arrived on the premiere date. Two more have followed, and the label has said more music is coming.
The sound aims for period authenticity. The team wanted the songs to feel like they came from this place and time, not like a modern playlist laid over the picture.
FX also runs a companion video series called Behind the Beat. It breaks down how the songs were made, with Dopson, Martin, cast members, and writers.

The Drop: A Snowfall Saga Score and Song Highlights
“LA Theme Song” is the show’s main title theme. It is a one-minute West Coast bounce track with a previously unreleased verse from Nipsey Hussle.
That verse was originally recorded for his 2018 single “Dedication.” It was cut to make room for a Kendrick Lamar feature.
“Officer Blackman” is one of the first two songs released. Buddy performs it in character as the rising rapper Artillery.
“Rydah” arrived alongside it on the premiere date. Some listings title it “Ambitions of a Rydah.”
“Back to the Hood (Moves to Make)” debuted in Episode 3. It is built around a sample of “Ain’t Nobody” and follows Artillery’s double life between studio parties and street ties.
“There Goes the Neighborhood” is a loose, percussion-driven track. It pairs Buddy with guest star Dajuan “Suga Free” Walker.
