Such Brave Girls Soundtrack

Such Brave Girls is a British sitcom about a dysfunctional single-parent family, created and written by Kat Sadler, who also stars. The first series aired on BBC Three in November 2023, a second series followed in July 2025, and a third series was commissioned in May 2026 — the show has become one of BBC Three’s most acclaimed recent comedies, winning the BAFTA TV Award for Best Scripted Comedy in 2024.

The series follows sisters Josie and Billie and their single mother Deb as they navigate poor judgment, low self-esteem, and relationships with people who barely notice them — described by its creator as “a family sitcom about trauma.”

Who Composed the Such Brave Girls Score?

Matthew Simpson, an English composer better known by his production name “Segal,” is credited with the show’s original music. Simpson built his career scoring British TV comedy and drama: he wrote themes and cues for Skins (including scoring its 2013 series finales in full), composed original music for both series of the BBC Three comedy Uncle, and scored the 2015 film We Are Your Friends.

Alongside Simpson’s original score, the show uses a handful of licensed pop and dance needle-drops. We can independently confirm Girls Aloud’s “Sound of the Underground” opens the first episode, and that “Laissez Faire (Main)” — a real, if obscure, electronic library track by an artist called Michel Lepop — recurs across multiple episodes as a main-title cue. Kim Wilde’s 1981 single “Chequered Love” and Skint’s “Tell Me How It Feels” also feature. Some episode-by-episode cue lists circulating for this show include additional titles we could not verify from any source independent of low-quality soundtrack aggregators, so we’ve left those out rather than repeat unconfirmed information.
