Rise of the Footsoldier: Retribution is the seventh entry in the British crime franchise, with Craig Fairbrass back as Pat Tate. Directed by Nick Nevern, it also stars Tamer Hassan, Leo Gregory and Jamie Foreman, and it opened in UK cinemas on August 28, 2026.
The music is where this one gets interesting. An official soundtrack album from composer Ross Power landed two weeks before the film did, and it is a big one.

Rise of the Footsoldier: Retribution Soundtrack Overview
The official album is titled Rise of the Footsoldier: Retribution (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). It was released on August 14, 2026, with the copyright line crediting RPMusic.
Ross Power announced the release on his own website. He said he had spent months working with larger labels so that tracks heard in the film could be released alongside his original score.
That helps explain the size. At 39 tracks and 1 hour 42 minutes, it is far bigger than his previous Footsoldier album.
The film itself is set in Ibiza and was pitched with a backdrop of classic trance tunes. That gives the album a different feel from the Essex and Soho settings of earlier chapters.
Who Composed the Rise of the Footsoldier: Retribution Soundtrack?
The score was composed by Ross Power, a British film and TV composer, sound designer, music producer and session musician. His TV and comedy work includes projects with Micky Flanagan, Matt Lucas and Paul Abbott.
He has also worked with orchestras including the RPO and the Philharmonia. Brand work for names like Carling, Virgin Trains and Volvo sits on his résumé too.
His Footsoldier connection started with Rise of the Footsoldier: Origins in 2021. In an interview about that film, he described using era-classic synths such as the CS-80, DX7 and Moog, plus plenty of guitar.
He returned for Vengeance in 2023, and Retribution is his third film for director Nick Nevern in the franchise.
