Drake’s Son Adonis, 8, Makes Surprise Appearance on New Music Video Set

The young star joined his father on a Toronto film set — complete with police cars, big smiles, and reportedly explosive pyrotechnics nearby.

When it comes to making music, family clearly matters to Drake — and now his son is stepping into the spotlight to prove it.

According to TMZ, The rapper was spotted filming a new music video in Canada on Sunday, and all eyes were on his 8-year-old son, Adonis, who showed up on set looking every bit the natural. Photographed by The Image Direct, the young boy was all smiles as he stepped onto the Toronto film set — and at one point, was even caught on camera sitting behind the wheel of a Toronto cop car during the shoot.

This isn’t Adonis’ first time on set. He was also featured in his famous father’s 2023 visual for “8AM in Charlotte” — so clearly, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

The father-son appearance comes just days after a dramatic explosion rocked a Toronto neighborhood, reportedly tied to a Drake music video shoot on Thursday night. According to The New York Times, police confirmed the blast was related to a film production. Drake himself seemed to confirm his involvement by reposting videos of the explosion to his Instagram Story.

Circulating on social media, a filming notice revealed a project called “PROJECT BOT” was scheduled to shoot at Toronto’s Downsview Park from Thursday night into early Friday morning. The notice confirmed a “pyrotechnic event” was planned to kick off after 6 PM and wrap by 11 PM.

It remains unclear whether the explosive Thursday shoot and Sunday’s family-friendly set day with Adonis are part of the same project — but one thing is certain: Drake is going all out for whatever is coming next.

Stay tuned. If “PROJECT BOT” delivers even half the spectacle of its behind-the-scenes moments, it might just be one of the most talked-about music video drops of 2026.
