Homestead Soundtrack: Directed by Ben Smallbone, Homestead is a faith-based, post-apocalyptic action-thriller from Angel Studios — and unlike when this page first went up as an “expected 2024” placeholder, it has a confirmed history now. The film released in U.S. theaters on December 20, 2024, and functioned as a pilot for a companion streaming series, Homestead: The Series, on the Angel Studios app.
The story is based on the Black Autumn book series by Jason Ross and retired Green Beret Jeff Kirkham. Official Synopsis: during a rapid collapse of society, a rich man’s mountain compound struggles between the military compulsions of its veteran operators and the rural values of its member families.

Who composed the Homestead Soundtrack?

Backus previously scored other Angel Studios-adjacent projects including A Week Away and Valiant One.
Homestead Soundtrack List
Lakeshore Records released the official Homestead (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) on December 20, 2024, alongside the film — 15 tracks, roughly 51 minutes total. We were able to confirm the album exists and its release details, but we don’t have a verified full track-by-track listing to publish here yet; rather than guess at song titles, we’re leaving that out until we can confirm it directly against the official release. One confirmed song from the soundtrack is “You and I.”
You can find the album on Spotify, Apple Music, and other major platforms under Benjamin Backus.
Homestead: The Series — where things stand in 2026
The Homestead film doubled as a pilot for Homestead: The Series, a continuation streaming exclusively on the Angel Studios app. The first two episodes released alongside the film on December 20, 2024, but a winter storm in Utah halted production after only two episodes were shot. After the film grossed over $20 million theatrically, Angel Studios greenlit both the completion of Season 1 and a full Season 2. The remaining six episodes of Season 1 aired weekly starting November 26, 2025, with the season finale landing December 25, 2025 — giving Season 1 a total of 8 episodes. Season 2 entered production in November 2025 and is expected to continue the story in 2026.
Where to Stream
The Homestead film is available on Angel Studios’ platform and for digital rental/purchase; Homestead: The Series streams exclusively through the Angel Studios app and website. The soundtrack album streams on Spotify and Apple Music.
Cast
The cast includes Neal McDonough (as Ian Ross), Dawn Olivieri, Bailey Chase, Susan Misner, Currie Graham, Jesse Hutch, Olivia Sanabia, and others; the series adds Charles Esten, Kearran Giovanni, Jill Wagner, and more.
