Cian Ducrot: After a cartoon racing to the top, Saiyan Dacrot was victorious with Cian Ducrot‘s official first No. 1 album.
Irish singer-songwriter’s debut album Victory went straight to the top of the Official Albums Chart after a seriously tough competition with Welsh heavy metal-reggae group Skindred, with less than 150 chart units separating the top 2 at the final whistle.
However, Tearful Cian Ducrot told Official Charts, “Number 1 in the UK! I don’t even have words, thank you so much, I’m gonna cry! Thank you so much to everyone who bought it, I don’t even know what to say, it means the world… I love you guys; this is absolutely insane. What a year.”Cian Ducrot added.
Skindred finished the week at No. 2 with their eighth studio album Smile, the Newport band’s highest peaking single in the UK and their first top 10 album to boot.
Skindred previously reached the top 40 with 2014’s Kill the Power (no. 28 peak), 2015’s Volume (29), and 2018’s Big Things (26), composing with band members Benji Webbe, Daniel Pugsley, Mickey Demus, and Ary Goggin. Smile also topped this week’s Official Vinyl Albums Chart, and Rock & Metal Albums Chart, and was the UK’s most downloaded album of the last seven days, as well as being the biggest independent release of the week.
Meanwhile at No. 3 is the most streamed album of the week – last week’s No. 1, Travis Scott’s Utopia.
Sherlock earns an individual best this week as People Like Me & You on 4 number becomes the South Yorkshire indie rockers’ first top 5 album and third top 10 collection, entering 2017’s Live for the Moment on 6, and 2022 K has united the World I Understand on 9.
Miles Kane is appreciating his fifth Top 40 album as a solo artist, and seventh all-around with One Man Band (5), Cian Ducrot’s highest-charting solo album to date. Kane also has two No. 1 albums as a portion of The Last Shadow Puppets with Alex Turner.
It is Tulisa, Dappy, and Fazer’s fifth top 40 album in the UK, corresponding to their previous album chart peak with 2009’s Against All Odds. At number six is Timeless, the recovery album by N-dBz, who recently produced from an 11-year hiatus.
The collection peaked at zero in 2004 and is best remembered for Twice 3 and its UK Top 5 single run. Finally, Snow Patrol’s 2003 highlight Final Stroke (28) was replaced with the Top 40 for the first time since August 2005 after 20 years of promotion.
