Yaga Soundtrack (2026)

Yaga is a mystery thriller created by Kat Sandler and adapted from her 2019 stage play of the same name. It reimagines the Slavic legend of Baba Yaga in a small coastal town and stars Carrie-Anne Moss, Noah Reid, Hudson Williams, and Clark Backo.

The music is a big part of the show’s identity. Trevor Yuile composed the score, and the series leans on bold cover songs, including Alanis Morissette’s take on “Season of the Witch.”

This guide covers the composer, the featured songs, and where to stream the series.

Yaga Soundtrack Overview

The music of Yaga works on two levels. Trevor Yuile supplies the original score, while a series of cover songs gives the show its distinctive sound.

The first two episodes each open with an Eastern European cover of a well-known pop song. Kat Sandler has said this choice honors Baba Yaga’s origins, since Eastern Europe is where the legend was born.

The marketing leaned on music too. The official trailer used Alanis Morissette’s cover of Donovan’s “Season of the Witch,” which was released as a digital single in September 2026.

Who Composed Yaga Soundtrack?

Trevor Yuile is the composer of Yaga. He is a Canadian composer known for Orphan Black, Into the Badlands, Killjoys, Orphan Black: Echoes, and Stag.

His Orphan Black score won a Canadian Screen Award, and he has also won a Juno Award. A score album from that series was released by Varèse Sarabande Records on May 19, 2015.

Earlier in his career, Yuile scored the Canadian series Being Erica, King, and Billable Hours. He has also worked as a songwriter, with placements in Grey’s Anatomy and Ghost Whisperer.

For Orphan Black, he set out to build an electronica-style score from organic instruments that were sampled and reshaped. That blend of electronic texture and acoustic sources is a defining part of his approach.
