Anderson directed and released the film on Netflix last year. While directing the film, Anderson won the first-ever Best Live Action Short Film award on Award Night.
The film will now be repackaged (with three additional shorts) as “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Three More,” and it will be re-released on Netflix on March 15.
While Anderson did not attend the 96th Academy Awards, she shared via the streaming giant that “It was a particular pleasure to (extremely faithfully) adapt four of Roald Dahl’s marvelous short stories.
I am delighted to present them now as an Anthology — also featuring an original song by Jarvis Cocker: ‘Roald Dahl’s Rules for Being a Fiction Writer.”
Added that The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar” marks Anderson’s first Oscar win, though he has been nominated eight times in total: Best Animated Picture for “Fantastic Mr. Fox.”
