Principal photography began in Victoria, Australia, in February 2023, and production wrapped by May 2023. The story follows Roy Freeman (Russell Crowe), a retired homicide detective undergoing an experimental Alzheimer’s treatment, who re-investigates a decade-old murder case as his memories slowly return.
The film stars Russell Crowe, Karen Gillan, Marton Csokas, Tommy Flanagan, Harry Greenwood, Thomas M. Wright, Elizabeth Blackmore, Lynn Gilmartin, Jane Harber, Lucy-Rose Leonard, Ming-Zhu Hii, and Paula Arundell.
Critical reception was mixed — Rotten Tomatoes’ consensus called it a film that “forgets to give Russell Crowe a compelling mystery to solve” — but audience scores ran notably higher, and the film found a stronger following after moving to digital and streaming platforms following its limited $2.1 million theatrical run.
