Monster Soundtrack: Directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda and written by Yuji Sakamoto, Monster is a Japanese drama film.

The film follows Minato. When her young son Minato starts to act strangely, his mother feels that there is something wrong. Uncovering that a teacher is responsible, she storms into the school, requesting what’s happening.

The stars are Sakura Ando, Eita Nagayama, Souya Kurokawa, Hinata Hiiragi, Mitsuki Takahata, Akihiro Kakuta, Shido Nakamura, and Yuko Tanaka.

Who composed the Monster?

Ryuichi Sakamoto composed the Monster soundtrack. He was a Japanese composer, pianist, record producer, and actor.

As a composer, he worked in many films and also composed the scores of many films. The film was the last scoring project by Ryuichi Sakamoto, who died two months before its release.

Ryuichi Sakamoto was dedicated to producing music for the film. At the direct request of the director, he submitted two piano pieces. He used songs from his new album 12 and old songs to compose the full.

Several tracks from Sakamoto’s earlier solo albums have also occurred in film soundtracks.”Chinsagu No Hana” (from Beauty) and “Bibo No Aozora” (from 1996) provide the poignant closing pieces for Sue Brooks’s Japanese Story (2003) and Alejandro González Iñárritu’s.

The film is produced by Toho, Gaga, Fuji Television Network, AOI Pro, and Bun-Buku and distributed by Toho and Gaga.

The film was the last scoring project by Ryuichi Sakamoto, who died two months before its release; the film is dedicated to his memory.

Monster had its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on 17 May 2023 and was honored with the Queer Palm as well as the Best Screenplay award.

Filming of the film took place at around 25 places in the Suwa region of Nagano Prefecture (Suwa, Okaya, Fujimi, and Shimosuwa) from 19 March to 12 May and 23 July to 13 August 2022.
