Score & Composer
The original score for Joy Womack: The White Swan was composed by Christopher Barnett, a British documentary film composer whose credits include the BAFTA-nominated comedy Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story (2005) and Borrowed Time (2012). This documentary marked Barnett’s fourth collaboration with Air-Edel Records, and his second dance-themed documentary for director Dina Burlis. According to Air-Edel, Barnett immersed himself in Joy Womack’s story to write music that tracked her emotional journey scene by scene, rather than scoring in the abstract.
The Joy Womack: The White Swan (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) album was released on December 8, 2023 — roughly two years after the documentary itself premiered — and was made available across Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify, Tidal, and Deezer.
