Who Composed I Don’t Expect Anyone to Believe Me?
This page previously credited the score to a violinist named “Sofia Lasa” — that credit does not check out. Both the English and Spanish Wikipedia entries for the film list the music credit as Joe Rodríguez and Javier Nuño, and independent research confirms Rodríguez and Nuño are the founders of Índice, a Mexico City-based music supervision company whose other film and TV credits include Cassandro, I’m No Longer Here, Acapulco, and Los Espookys. That background suggests the film leans on a curated song selection rather than a traditional orchestral score, which is consistent with why no separate soundtrack album appears to have been released. We could not independently verify “Sofia Lasa” as connected to this film at all, and have removed that credit rather than repeat it.
Soundtrack & Score
Unlike many Netflix originals, no standalone soundtrack album or official tracklist for I Don’t Expect Anyone to Believe Me has been published on Spotify, Apple Music, or a dedicated film-score database as of this update. Rather than invent song titles, we’re disclosing that gap honestly: if you’re looking for the exact cues and licensed songs used scene-by-scene, they don’t appear to be publicly catalogued yet. Music from the film can be searched for on Apple Music and Spotify, where any future release would likely surface.
Reception & Where to Watch
The film was well-received on the festival circuit and beyond, holding an 88% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes from early reviews, with critics praising its avant-garde, meta-narrative blend of dark comedy and mob thriller. It also competed in the international lineup at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival. I Don’t Expect Anyone to Believe Me is streaming exclusively on Netflix.
