Coven Academy Soundtrack Overview
The season-one music works on two levels. Mann’s original score sits under the story, while a pop-heavy list of licensed songs gives the school its personality.
Billboard revealed that song list a day before the premiere, covering all 21 chapters of the season. It mixes recognizable hits, deep cuts and tracks from up-and-coming artists.
The score assignment was first reported by Film Music Reporter on September 21, 2026. Music supervision is credited to Natasha Duprey on the series’ IMDb full credits page.
Who Composed Coven Academy Soundtrack?
The series is scored by Gabriel Mann, an Emmy-nominated composer, songwriter and singer. He is also a member of the Los Angeles alternative band The Rescues.
Mann wrote the signature theme for Modern Family and scored the show for its run on ABC. His music for the Sundance Channel drama Rectify drew praise from Time magazine, which described it as hypnotic.
He has also scored A Million Little Things, written songs and score for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and composed Uncoupled for Netflix. His official website also notes that he produced Sara Bareilles’ debut album and served as the resident songwriter on Arrested Development.
More recently, Mann took over scoring duties on Emily in Paris for seasons four and five. Film Music Reporter has also said he is expected to return for the show’s sixth and final season.
Earlier this year, he also scored Mindy Kaling’s Hulu workplace comedy Not Suitable for Work, which premiered on June 2, 2026.
His earlier work with Federle includes the score for Better Nate Than Ever (2022), which is why Coven Academy feels like a reunion.

Coven Academy Licensed Songs and Needle Drops
The trailer leaned on Brutal by Olivia Rodrigo, using it as Briar (Malina Pauli Weissman) begins to grasp her newly discovered powers.
Billboard also premiered a clip in which Jake (Malachi Barton) levitates to Supernatural by Barns Courtney. It’s one of the few placements tied to a specific scene so far.
The biggest names on the list are Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, Lady Gaga (Abracadabra), KATSEYE (Debut) and Tate McRae (Greenlight). Florence + The Machine and Labrinth also appear.
A few picks lean nostalgic. The Backstreet Boys’ Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) and Vitamin C’s Smile sit alongside newer cuts like Us. by Gracie Abrams featuring Taylor Swift and I Don’t Know You Anymore by Sombr.
Rising artists get space too, including Sienna Spiro’s You Stole The Show, Kaiya Gamble’s Highschool Play and Nicky MacKenzie’s Lost And Found.
