Betrayal Soundtrack (2023): Betrayal (released internationally as Grenzeloos Verraad) is a Dutch World War II drama directed by Thomas Nauw and Dennis Bots, written by Rob Camies and Thomas Nauw from a story by Peter Nillesen. The film opened theatrically in the Netherlands in March 2023, and Epic Pictures Group brought it to select U.S. theaters on December 1, 2023, followed by VOD release on December 5, 2023.
Set near the end of the war, Betrayal tells the story of German-Dutch officer Ludwig Mengelberg, nicknamed “Der Fliegende Holländer” (“The Flying Dutchman”). After his wife and daughter are killed in an Allied bombing, Mengelberg struggles to cope with the horrors of war. When he is transferred to the Netherlands, he decides to help a Dutch farming family hiding people from the Nazis — an act of high treason against his own men that puts everyone involved in mortal danger as the SS grows suspicious.
Editor’s note: an earlier version of this page listed a cast and director that do not belong to this film. “Betrayal” is a very common title shared by several unrelated projects — including a separate 2024/2025 crime drama starring Ken Davitian and directed by Adam Rivera. The credits below have been corrected to match this 2023 WWII drama, which is the film whose plot and official trailer appear on this page.
